On Wednesday, October 5th Student Nutrition Services will report school-level data of free and reduced percentages. This data will provide a snapshot of students enrolled as of that day and drives the funding under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) for your school. Examples of how the data impacts:
- All schools where 50% or more students meet the income eligibility standards for free or reduced-priced benefits are eligible for free supper programs for all students.
- High Schools where 75% or more students qualify for free or reduced-priced benefits are eligible for Title I funding, which means thousands of dollars for your school. This funding is equal to about two additional teachers or other staff positions.
- Early Education School Sites have one deadline every school year: the last day in October. The Free and Reduced % is then locked for the entire school year, and determines the reimbursement rate (funding amount) for the freshly prepared meals served to our little ones by the McAteer Culinary kitchen.
Please look at your schools free and reduced % 's in this link: view school-level data.
